Rescue Me ID: 17-06-24-00080Fredrik von Snuffles (male)

Pekingese    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My what a regal fella, Fredrik von Snuffles is looking for a new kingdom, a castle that he can call home. Well, it does not even have to be a castle just a fine place with people that will adore Fredrik. (His friends call him Freddy). Freddy is a sweet boy, very well mannered and adores a good belly rub. He is not fond of people getting up in his face so much and came to rescue when the vet could not examine his teeth, silly guy. Easy solution, just don't snuggle up to his face, problem solved. Otherwise he is very affectionate, playful, and so lovable. For this reason we are not recommending small children in the home. He has not bitten ... (Read More)nor even tried to but gives a little growl-which is a good thing-he is able to get his point across without any drama. We adore this big boy,he fit into our busy home like a champ. He is 2-3 years old. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-30-00145Micki (male)

Pekingese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Howdy! My name is Micki, and I have an outstanding proposition for you: what do you think about adopting not one, but two amazing, affectionate BFFs to spend your life with? My sister from another mister Mouse and I are looking for a forever home together and are available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation. I am a ridiculously good looking 3-year-old, 12-pound Pekingese mix: I am a rich caramel color, with silky flowing locks and a smile that will melt even the coldest heart. My best accessory is my bestie Mouse: ... (Read More)she is a teeny tiny (only 7 pounds!) wire terrier mix with hair as white as snow. I think we complement each other really well, don't you? I know, I know, looks shouldn't matter, but since we have such great personalities, too, I think it is ok to humbly suggest that with us by your side, we could be the best looking family in the neighborhood! Mouse and I were saved from Chicago Animal Care & Control through the CRISP program. When our previous owners brought us there because they could no longer take care of us, we hit the jackpot and go to go home with the president of Fetching Tails instead of inside the big, busy shelter! Our foster home is pretty awesome: we get to lounge around the yard and go for lots of long walkies with our foster parents. I love going for walks and always wear my big signature grin while strutting down the sidewalk. When we are not enjoying the great outdoors, we love to lounge around the house and follow our foster mom around. I am a little more independent than Mouse, and while she will gladly stay in our human's lap all the time if given the chance, I prefer to seek out attention when I want some cuddles but will let my humans know that I am ready for some me time and personal space, as well. So what do you think? Do you want to give a loving forever home to two sweet, calm, loving little dogs? Two dogs are better than one anyway, right? Right! And if you already have pets, that is fine, too, because Mouse and I get along well with dogs of all sizes and even kitty cats! We sound pretty amazing, don't you think? You know you want to reach out to our foster mom and tell her we are the dogs for you. Just do it! Mouse and I can't wait to start our happily ever after with you! Love, Micki If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org or if any questions please email us! Adoption Requirements: *Be at least 21 years of age *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *Lives in 50 mile radius of Itasca within the Illinois border Adoption Fees: Senior dog - 8 years and up, $75 Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250 Puppies - under 6 months, $350 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-06-00439Dougie (male)

Pekingese    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dougie is a very special dog with specific needs. He is cute as can be and has an amazing personality but needs a very understanding and patient forever home. Dougie was one of many dogs seized from a dog hoarding situation. He had never been properly socialized and was severely neglected. You wouldn't know it from his beautiful coat he has now but he came to his foster home, from Animal Control in September,%A0%A0almost completely bald from mange. He also suffered from parasites and a pretty bad hernia. Dougie has proximity sensitivity towards humans and will growl and snap from time to time, but is in love with and protects his doggie ... (Read More)foster brother. They sleep together, eat together and share toys! Dougie loves to play with plush squeaky toys, something that he is just starting to do recently. He is a crack up and is able to be pet for short periods of time, even sitting on his foster moms feet in her office at home. He is able to be leashed and walks are his all time favorite thing. He is currently in training and doing great! We hope with the right home and love and care and patience Dougie can finally have the peace he deserves. If you think Dougie would be a good fit for you or your dog please email us at info@bowwowrevolution.com. He would do best in a home without children of any age. (Less)

lnteresting Pekingese Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
The Pekingese was once believed to be able to ward off evil spirits. Historically, the theft of a Pekingese in China was punished by death. Chinese were once required to bow down to Pekingese. All modern Pekingese are descended from five dogs rescued for Queen Victoria during the Second Opium War. When British troops reached the residence of the Chinese Emperor, the guards killed all but these five dogs to prevent them falling into the hands of the enemy.
