This was my Mothers dog and she is no longer able to care for him. I have been caring for him for two months and have been trying to find a home for him by word of mouth with no luck. I would keep him but my wife is allergic to him and is not doing well with him in the house.

|Rescue Me ID: 16-11-06-00439Dougie (male)|
Meet Dougie, a 6 year old male Pekingese! Dougie started his life out in a bad hoarding situation and came to Animal Control with mange, worms and a bad hernia- he was in bad shape and pretty down. He is now living a life filled with soft pillows, treats and all the walks he can get in his foster home! He is getting used to walking on leash and loves his new harness-usually its not a walk, but a run as he is just so happy to be outside on an adventure! Dougie likes his own space and needs some time to get acquainted , but he and his foster brother are best of friends and sometimes share their bed and water bowls! His fur is growing in nicely and he is getting a lot of naps. He is just someone who wants to be by your side at all times and LOVES cuddle sesh's. He will even fall asleep in your arms within seconds. Dougie is the most adorable little man, and we are searching for the best forever family for him! |Rescue Me ID: 16-03-28-00325Sunny (male)|
Sunny is a sassy and energetic, five-year-old, 15-pound, male purebred Pekingese looking for a loving guardian. This boy is quite the character! He is a happy guy with a proud fluffy wagging tail. His jaw had been broken in his past, sadly possibly due to abuse, so his tongue often hangs out on the side. But, that just adds to his considerable charm. Sunny is affectionate with his people but he does carry some baggage and likes to guard his food and toys which can cause him to grumble, growl or even snap. So, he's recommended for a dog-experienced adult-only home. Sunny gets along with most dogs - best with females - but barks at cats. He enjoys his walks and going for rides in the car. Since Sunny was neutered later in life, he has not perfected his housebreaking yet, so he wears a belly band in the home when he is not crated. Sunny is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm and fecal tested, and micro-chipped. He even had a recent dental. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Sunny, please contact Maria at firstname.lastname@example.org He is being fostered in Lincolnwood, Illinois. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of Rescue Tails Animal Welfare. (Less)
