|Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00157General Gao (male)|
We are in search of a new home for our spunky, cute, cuddly, dog named General Gao. He is six years old, 16 pounds, in perfect health, recently cleaned teeth, house trained, knows some tricks, a perfect tail that gets him catcalls every day, and will never wake you early in the morning. The perfect pet for someone who wants a companion to sleep on the bed and enjoys walks. We have loved him for five years but recently had a baby that he is not good with. Potential owners should not have young children and not host them at their house too often. He also doesn't like most large dogs (unless they are very old and calm) but does perfectly fine when he goes to doggy day care. He also hates the mailman. If we didn't have a baby who keeps trying to grab his tail, we would not be in this sad situation. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to meet the little guy. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-01-00091Jax ($25 adoption fee) (male)|
Arrival date March 22, 2017 (2 yrs old at intake) Mild heartworm. Treatment to begin Apr and can go home once it is complete. Jax is a pekingese/spaniel mix with amber eyes that seem to always hold a look of sadness. He was pulled from Animal Control after being relinquished from an older owner who was unable to physically care for him and keep him safe. He has a gentle spirit which is grateful for attention and especially of caressing touch. He is still quite confused and uncertain about the changes in his life and will keep his fluffy tail tucked between his legs until he is able to relax. Our newly launched website http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ has all info regarding adoption polices and procedures under tab 'All Adoptable Animals'. Please read them before applying. A fill-able application form under same tab can be completed and submitted online. All of our residents require an adopter approval process as we strive to place them in homes which will meet their needs and keep them safe. We do not ship nor transport our residents. Approved adopters must come to the shelter to accompany their new family member on the journey home. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a 'No kill' shelter which provides quality care and the medical services of spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and monthly heart worm prevention treatment for dogs. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Animals are primarily owner relinquished. The facility usually is operating at full capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4. Contact or visit CSHS, 4823 Helen Hwy. 75N, Sautee, GA 30571, phone: 706-865-4135 email: firstname.lastname@example.org . The shelter is located 4 miles south of the alpine town of Helen in the NE Georgia mountains. (Less)
