Meet Popeye (purebred 5 yr old pekingese) !! When we rescued him from our local shelter, he was already missing an eye - we assume this surgery was done when he was a baby as it is definitely long-healed. Popeye's 'handicap' does not slow him down! He is an absolute love bug!!! He does well with other dogs, and we think he would be fine with kitties also. We prefer he goes to a home with kids over 10 as he does get a tiny bit nervous if you approach him from the 'blind' side and he can't see you. This guy is a star - and we know you'll love him just as a much as we do!

|Rescue Me ID: 14-06-05-00025Mario (male)|
Mario is a 10+ year old pekingese. I have recently had him shaved down for the summer. He has dry eyes that need medicine every day for the rest of his life. It is not expensive-less than $20 a month. His eyes are not functioning well and the vet feels he has very little sight. He is fine once he maps out the house and knows where everything is located. He is very sweet except when it is eye drop time he can be feisty....you just have to go slow. Likes to sleep in a crate with a few blankets and the door open. Very easy going and a joy to be around. Email for an application. Thank you.
