|Animal ID: MCP-18-012Rudy (male)|
This handsome Peke boy came to us from a private owner. His story is sad. He was adopted when he was young by a wonderful family who he lived with his entire life before coming to us. As time went on, the kids moved out and had their own lives, but the adult mom & dad adored Rudy and doted on him like he was a human child. As his human parents agent, the mom became ill and passed away. That left him and his human dad on their own. His human dad was battling ever increasing dementia symptoms and was forced to go live with one of the adult children. He and Rudy spent a few years going back and forth from home to home with the adult kids until they ended up here in AZ. His human father continued to decline and in the home here in AZ there were other dogs that were too big and energetic picking on Rudy, and, his human Dad started forgetting to let Rudy out, etc. His family loved Rudy very much and contacted us to help find him a new home. Rudy has been with us now for a few months. His first month or more was very difficult for him, he really missed his human dad and would look everywhere for him. But, he has now adjusted to his foster home and is doing quite well. We are working on him regaining his prior house training as we are told he had impeccable house manners previously. He is not a leg lifter, just needs to be taken out on a schedule after he eats. He is tolerant of most other dogs and cats - even trying to play from time to time. But, he does not respond well to an overly energetic dog, and, he needs to be fed individually as he is pretty serious about his food! For this reason we are saying he needs a home with no children under teenage years. His eyes are in great shape for a Peke and he has adorable little white eyelashes. He likes to follow you around and lay near but not on you. He is a sweet boy with a few quirks due to his prior living situation and he deserves a great home for his final years where he won't need to move again and he can just be himself. Message us if you could be that home for him. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-04-21-00291Simon (male)|
Simon is a Peekachu boy...A blend of Pekingese, Chihuahua and Terrier. He came to us with his sister Shannon, who has since been adopted.. Simon is a real lover boy once he gets to know you , and it will take him perhaps (30 minutes or less), and then he is your best friend. He was neutered and at that time he weighed in at 18.6 lbs. He does fine with other dogs, but Simon would prefer to be the one and only canine and in a quiet home. Great walking partner and car passenger. He just ignores the cats in the foster home. He is 1 years old as of 1/30/18, and is one of the cutest boys you will encounter. House trained, neutered and up to date on shots along with micro-chipped. We do not think he would be a good candidate with small children. Perhaps someone that is more inclined to working with a dog that has a bad habit of growling at new people that come close to him and his family. He has never bitten, but it is a habit that he has (example: you are sitting with him on the couch and someone comes over by you...he growls at them). He has never bit any one, but it is a behavior that needs correcting, perhaps in a training class or a experienced person? Simon's adoption fee is $250.00 If you are interested in Simon, PLEASE complete a application. Most everything we know about our dogs is in the bio..so please read it so you know what the dog is like and if it will fit your life style. Once an application is received, it will go in that dogs file for review. IF you are chose for Simon, you will get a call for him and will have 3 hours to respond (if we get your answering machine) before we go to the next person of interest. *The ONLY way to be considered is with an application which is on our website: www.wowdogrescue.org Click on the picture and scroll all the way to the bottom of the following page. |Rescue Me ID: 18-04-20-00400Cuco (male)|
Cuco is a darling 4 year old pekingese/chihuahua mix who is looking for his perfect forever home. Cuco came to us with a female friend, so he would love to go to a home with a canine companion. He is a very friendly boy with an outgoing personality. Cuco loves both men and women, but needs a home with no children under the age of 18. Cuco prefers women, and takes a while to warm up to men. He previously bit an elderly man in the leg as he stood up in a new adoptive home, so he needs a women to show him lots of love, and he will need lots of patience from the men in his new home. Cuco would do well in an active home as he loves to play, and would love someone to take him on walks and short hikes. Cuco may need some house training and patience in his forever home, but is learning very quickly and mostly house broken. Cuco weighs in full grown 12 pounds. His adoption fee is $260. He is altered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption comes with 30 days of free pet insurance and a free vet visit. To meet him, come to our location at 1102 W. Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. On weekends, call for location as we have off-site adoption events that some of our dogs attend, 602-944-2440 (Less)
